Quick Correction for Gym Leader Backers ($60 and up)!
about 7 years ago – Thu, Mar 09, 2017 at 08:05:56 PM

Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately there was a small mistake with the BackerKit surveys for the Gym Leader backers (those who pledged $60 and up). There was supposed to be a question asking how you'd like your name to appear in the THANK YOU section of the printed books.

I've corrected the surveys, so you should get a reminder email asking you to fill this extra information out. Just put your name exactly how you'd like it to appear. Nicknames, family/friend's names, or random goofiness are fine. Length is not a huge limitation, so if you like to say "Mr. and Mrs. Blank", or "Blank and my son Blank" that's fine.
No swearing please, as this book will be seen by quite a few children.

Thanks again for your patience and support! Send me a message if you have any questions.

Surveys are out! (Horray for BackerKit)
about 7 years ago – Sat, Mar 04, 2017 at 02:08:14 PM

Hello everyone,

Time to celebrate! I'm sending out the PokéNatomy surveys through BackerKit. It's my first time using the system, but most professional crowdfunding projects rely on it. I figure that even though I'm just one overworked artist living on a diet of apples and coffee, I should aspire to professionalism.

You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. Once you've clicked it, you will be able to answer questions about your personal rewards (like how you want your book signed), provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like.

If you need to change your survey responses, add or remove add-ons, or update your shipping information, you can click on the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.

If you prefer, you can just message me and give me your information, but answering your survey will help me get your rewards out to you quicker. BackerKit will hopefully save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providingme with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

Again, thanks for all your support. Let me know if you have any questions or problems with the Backerkit system.
I can’t wait to send you your rewards! They're coming sooner than you think!

Stay awesome,

Chris

Surveys are this week! (Also Eggs)
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 28, 2017 at 05:50:49 PM

Hey all you people! :D

The project is going strong, and will be sent off to the printers soon! It's mostly just nitty- gritty detail work at this point, slight edits in format, font, and layouts. All the essential, but un-glamorous details of putting together a book of this size. There's not much to show off at this point.
However, there is some big news! I'm sending out the Surveys this coming week! I put it off for as long as possible because during my last few projects a surprising number of people changed addresses between their survey responses and the mailing of the books.

In the meantime, have some eggs!

I'm doing a slight redesign of the Leatherbound cover as well. The basic design will stay the same, but it will be embossed AND have foil elements intertwined as well as separate. This basically means that it will look even better, and more like a classic European Bestiary in style and quality. It's all about giving you, the backer, a better final product and a piece of art that we can all be proud to have helped create!

As always let me know what you think in the comments. If you have any questions leave those as well!

Much love, and stay awesome!
Thanks,
Chris

New Year, New Updates!
about 7 years ago – Thu, Feb 23, 2017 at 12:54:27 PM

Hey everyone!

I hope your 2017 is off to a good start. I've been working full-time finishing up the final 3rd-tier evolutions, and haven't had very much time for updates. The project's art is nearing total completion, and some of the original art (magikarp, pikachu, and bulbasaur mostly) has been revisited to bring it more in line with my later work.

I've just finished the final illustrations for the starter Pokémon, and based them off of the original 90's promotional/box art. The goal was to capture that classic style, technique, and tone. Let me know what you think!

The 3rd-tier evolutions are the best yet, and bring the project's art basically to a close.

There's still a long way to go, the work is challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Stay awesome!

Chris
